New York artist seeks art lovers to pay what they want for his paintings.
As John C. Kuchera starts his day as a porter for Columbia University in the back of his mind he is flipping through images he will start to paint later after work. A large happy man in his 50s he works on many art-related projects. Last year he was featured in the NY Times for creating a small museum in his apartment. This year he helps run The Black Door Gallery, a monthly “POP UP” Art Exhibit currently doing shows at the back room of the Black Door Bar on 26th Street in Chelsea. On his blog called “Seeking Art Lovers” he has started to post his artwork to art lovers asking them to pay what they want. “Paintings have taken over our apartment, and I hope reaching out to art lovers will help find happy homes for them”.
